Sightseeing

City of Arts and Sciences

An ensemble of futuristic buildings designed by local architects and surrounded with beautiful pools is a must-see for any visitor of the city.

For more information please visit their website.

Note: If you come by car, even though City of Arts and Sciences does have car parking, we recommend you to opt for the cheaper parking in the large shopping centre across the road.

Oceanogràfic

Make sure to visit the star of the City of the Arts and Sciences, a cutting-edge oceanarium that opened in 2003. It is by far the largest aquarium in Europe and it contains representatives of the world’s main marine ecosystems.

In order to avoid the queue, we recommend booking your tickets at oceanografic.org.

Valencia Cathedral

Another place well worth visiting is the Valencia Cathedral, especially for those of religious following. Inside, the city claims to have what is supposed to be the Holy Grail - the actual cup that Jesus drank from during the last supper.

Visit the website.

La Lonja de la Seda

This majestic building from late 15th century is held as the masterpiece of Valencian gothic architecture. In past, this UNESCO site served as a place for trading silk (hence the name "Silk Exchange").

The Central Market

If you would like to get a closer insight into the daily life of the Valencianos, Valencia's Central Market is a nice place to stroll around. There are some really interesting food stalls here, as well as loads of traditional shops, bars and cafés.
